CAREER PATH

I’ve been a journalist for the last ten years.

I started out my career at a community radio station in Cape Town called Bush Radio 89.5fm in 2001.

The year that I spent there has formed the basis for my career.

Since then I’ve worked for a few media and news organisation which includes SABC news, Heart 104.9 Fm, Prime Media (KFM and 567 Cape Talk).

I’ve also dabbled in a bit of media liaison and public relations for JCQ Productions, a music production company.

Recently I’ve joined the eNews Channel, a 24-hour news channel where I’m responsible for the international news diary for the channel.

HOW I CAME INTO CONACT WITH ANEX

While working for the then, P4 Radio Cape Town, I was contacted by Anex to follow-up on a story about two missing girls from Beafort West.

It was alleged that the pair left their hometown for the promise of a better life in Cape Town.

We traced them to a so-called “domestic employment agency” in Rylands, Cape Town.

WHAT IT MEANS TO SIT IN THE ANEX BOARD

It’s a great honour and privilege to be a part of an organisation that’s doing such brilliant work.

I know it’s not much, but in a way it feels like I’m helping to make a difference.

MY ROLE AS A BOARD MEMBER

My media experience and media expertise has given me the opportunity to serve on the board.

I see my role as helping and making sure ANEX is doing all it can to get media exposure and help where I can with helping the organisation maximise all opportunities for media exposure
